Tunisian Desk

Legal Law Limited’s African Desk pools all its experience in Africa-related matters. Our Tunis office is a central component of Legal Law Limited’s Africa practice and one of its major strength is its ability to optimise cultural, linguistic and legal efficiencies across Francophone civil law jurisdictions.

Our African Desk comprises a multidisciplinary team of lawyers who are not only experts in their own fields but are also motivated by working together on African projects.

Legal Law Limited is committed to becoming the trusted legal and tax partner of local and foreign investors who want to do business in Africa as we provide advice to companies based in African Countries on their activities in Europe as well as to European clients on their projects in Africa. Our lawyers are all multilingual legal experts used to working on and managing cross-border transactions in French, English and Dutch, to the best international business standards.

Our lawyers in the African legal team regularly advise European and American companies on the legal matters relating to their projects in the African region including North African countries as well as those in South Africa. The African Desk helps investors with their inbound and outbound transactions, advising them on mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions, holding and financial structures, project financing, fund formation, general and indirect tax (including tax planning, corporate tax, customs and duties), real estate investments, energy law, labour law and the protection of their interests in arbitration procedures

The African legal team is led by Giorgio Bianco who speaks Italian, English, French and Arabic; he has a vast amount of experience working across cross-border jurisdictions. Daniel Theron is a dually qualified English solicitor and South African lawyer who routinely advises South African clients on issues of English law in association with English law firms and barristers as well as European clients dealing with South African legal matters.

Our lawyers in the African Desk have experience in African mining, regulatory advice and assistance; banking and pension fund litigation and arbitration, administrative law, public procurement (tender) advice for both government and private sector entities; and pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance advice, with a particular interest in cross-border and international work within these areas.

Our practice areas are varied and extensive, although we pride ourselves on being able to tailor our legal services, to fit our individual corporate clients’ business needs.

We also cooperate with experienced African legal partners to provide cross-border advice between more than one jurisdiction in Africa and we have built up excellent and long term working relationships with the leading local law firms in every single jurisdiction in Africa.
